Newborn Romper Knitting Pattern

I created this romper pattern with Newborn Photographers in mind, but this little piece of clothing makes a cute addition to any newborn closet.

With this purchase, you will receive the knitting pattern, not the finished product.

There are 2 versions of this romper, as reflected in the pictures. You will receive both patterns in a download. If you have any questions don't hesitate to email me.

Things you will need to know:

K - knit
P – purl

M1- knit one stitch from the bar between the right and left-hand needle

Pm- place marker

Sm- slip marker
Yo – yarn over
K2P – Slip stitch, knit 2 together. Pass slip stitch over (double decrease)

Kf/b – knit front and back into the same stitch (increase) Making 2 stitches out of 1

M1R – using your right-hand needle, pick up the bar between the right and left-hand needle through the front. Place on the left-hand needle, now knit this stitch through the back loop

M1L - using your right-hand needle, pick up the bar between the right and left-hand needle through the back. Transfer this stick to the left-hand needle knit
|| repeat || - repeat the section between double lines

Kitchener stitch, great youtube videos available

Materials needed:

I doubled lace weight yarn 260 yards per 50g, (single 260 yards per 25g)  1 ball of 25g is barely enough (the finished romper weighs in at exactly 25g), but you will have to knit from both sides (careful this could cause knots) I would recommend getting 2 balls of yarn, 72% super kid mohair, 28% silk, gauge: 5 stitches x 7 rows = 1” x1” (wispy)

Worsted yarn, 137 yards per 50 g, gauge: 5 stitches x 7 rows = 1”x1”(warm)

2 stitch markers, scrap yarn, darning needle, double pointed needle spiel size 4 (3.5mm), circular needles size 4 (3.5mm) 16 inches long.

Newborn - 8 weeks

"Annette nearly 9 years ago you made a doll for a 5 yr old child I was adopting. You named her "Lilly" for us. She is a more traditional Waldorf doll with embroidered auburn hair. My daughter loves Lilly and has slept with her every night since she arrived for her first Christmas here."

"We aren't a wealthy family, however, our Ringalina doll Lisa Mollen has been a joy for our entire family for 6 1/2 years now. She has soothed my daughter through her daddy's multiple deployments, and been a constant companion for all of us! Poor Annette has repaired and recovered Lisa through her many love nibbles and accidents, not to mention all the replacement locks of love that have lovingly been restitched. The cost of these dolls pale in comparison to the love, artistry, craftsmanship and friendship that goes into them. I wouldn't want to envision my daughters childhood, escapades and adventures without Lisa and now Elle! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Best Elf Ever!”
