Sew with me - A continuation of basic machine sewing
Coming soon! We are just waiting on the 2021/22 school calendar!
The 8-week sew-along will be taught at Cloth & Twine on New Location - 405 South Broad Street, Edenton, NC 27932.
Students have a basic understanding of machine sewing or have taken my sewing class in the previous year. Dates and times will be announced once the new school calendar is available.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
In this 8-week sew-along, the child will be reminded of the safety and the use of basic tools and materials in the sewing workspace, and finish at least one project.
Patterns, tools, and sewing tread will be provided, but fabric must be purchased. I will be happy to recommend fabrics but love it when the children take initiative to design their creations. If you would prefer to purchase fabric from me, please let me know two weeks prior to starting, I am happy to have the appropriate fabric available.
- The use of all tools will be provided.
- He/she will be reminded of the basic functions of the sewing machine.
- He/she will set up the workspace.
- He/she will read a simple pattern and create something using it.
- He/she will sew along and finish projects.
No need to bring a sewing machine or other sewing tools. They are made available in the sewing room for your child to use.
By signing up for any of my classes your child agrees to follow basic safety rules in and around the workspace. I will go over these rules with all students during their first lesson, but please read over them on one of the pages of this information packet. (this pdf will be updated soon).
Spaces in each session will be limited to a maximum of 3 students. I am happy to accommodate your needs and will consider each request.
